Tribal Moon for Moon Time Part Three

The Art of Biohacking Your Moon Cycle With Ceremonial Grade Cacao

By now, if you have been following our Moon Time series you will be familiar with how and why Tribal Moon ceremonial grade cacao can be a powerful friend and ally in context to womens health and the menstrual cycle. If you haven’t read parts one and two you can find them in the Blog section of our website here https://tribalmooncacao.com/blog/.

What is Biohacking?

It is the art of cultivating inner and outer vitality, of living more authentically, evolving to your potential and thriving deeply in life. It is exploring different superfoods and herbs, exercises, healing modalities, ways of improving sleep, connection with nature, honouring natural rhythms and cycles and developing the mind and spirit. “Biohacking is the art and science of changing the environment around you and inside you so that you have full control over your own biology” Dave Asprey, The Creator of Bulletproof Coffee.

Biohacking was made mainstream by Bulletproof Coffee, otherwise known as butter coffee or keto coffee which is blended freshly made coffee, MCT oil and grass-fed butter or ghee. It is said to improve memory and recall due to its healthy fat content, nutrient density and antioxidants. Sound familiar? The benefits of bulletproof coffee are similar to that of ceremonial grade cacao, but where coffee ends cacao just keeps on giving.

Biohacking for Women

“When I began drinking Tribal Moon Cacao daily I noticed similar effects to when I drank bulletproof coffee, although what stood out to me was that I had less menstrual pain and heaviness in my uterus the week leading up to and during my period” Jessica, Yoga Instructor, USA.

We have heard this from many women who have made the shift to daily cacao as a gentler, more feminine, sensual and imagination inspiring alternative to to their previous daily coffee. It is a good change because it offers energy but it is a lot more calming to the nervous system. There is no crash in energy like there often is with coffee. Women have different needs during different phases of the menstrual cycle and these are largely determined by hormones. Later in this article we will go more in-depth about the different seasons, or phases of the Moon Cycle and how to use Tribal Moon Cacao and other superfoods and healing modalities to enhance this journey of health and healing with your womb. Biohacking Tribal Moon style!

Moon Time Biohacking Basics

The following practices may help you create a strong foundation throughout your cycle, so when you hit the inevitable low moments your body, mind and soul will be more prepared and relaxed. It is much better to go through your menstrual week with energy flowing and a stable mind. It encourages emotional energy to move freely, lessening tension in the womb. Becoming more relaxed also means that your intuition can tune into what you need for your life to continue to evolve! Its about having these natural cycles (and hormones) work for you, not the other way around. This is biohacking with a feminine touch:

The ‘Seasons’ of Your Moon Cycle

A woman’s menstrual cycle naturally falls into four phases, or seasons over the course of a month. These are the seasons of your moon cycle and the ‘average’ length of days. Of course this is only a rough guide and every woman cycles a little differently.

Winter – Menstrual (days 1-7)

This is moon time, when you easily and naturally shift attention inwards, slowing down and tuning in to your deep self and God. You can feel your blood and life-force pulsing through your veins. It is good to generate and store up energy now for the rest of your cycle. This is the time for letting go of what needs to be changed, both within yourself and throughout your life as your body releases blood from the past cycle. Preparing extra cacao during this week is a great idea, both for potential cramps and also as a way to get enough iron and B vitamins into your body to replenish the blood lost. During this phase, adding organic cold-pressed CBD oil can also be really soothing to the nerve and muscular systems and can assist with mood swings and anxiety.

Enquiries are welcome through the Tribal Moon contact page for more information regarding pure CBD oil. Basically, moon time is time to keep things flowing but above all to stay relaxed and nurture yourself.

Spring – Follicular (days 8-13)

Hormone levels are now slowly beginning to rise along with your energy as estrogen is being produced to thicken the uterine lining in preparation for implantation. Usually cognitive alertness will also improve during this week. This is when you could go through those dreamy visions and ideas that came during moon time and decide which ones you will take action to bring through and ‘birth’ in the coming cycle. You can make a brain enhancing cacao brew by adding some medicinal mushrooms such as Lions Mane, Reishi or Cordyceps. This is a great week to focus on goal setting and other more ‘yang’ or outward, masculine oriented tasks. Intense movement like strength training, ecstatic dance and hiking are all suited to this part of your moon cycle.

Summer – Ovulation (days 14-21)

Ovulation begins when a mature egg is released from the ovary, which then moves through the fallopian tube where it can be fertilised if conditions are right. Even if the egg is not literally fertilised, creative projects can still be birthed during this phase of your cycle. Because it is another more outward phase, it is suited for commencing new projects, networking, being in the mood for love and intimacy. It can be a very sensual part of your moon cycle and is good idea to add some Tribal Moon Maca to your cacao smoothie as it will assist with hormone balancing and sexuality. It is a fun time to come together for a group cacao ceremony, the energy is ripe for connection and community.

Autumn – Luteal (days 22-28)

If an egg has been fertilised it will travel through the fallopian tube to the uterus, where it will implant in the lining. Progesterone and estrogen levels are at their peak during this phase, helping to thicken the womb lining in preparation for implantation. If the egg isn’t fertilised, hormone levels drop and moon time will begin again. This is when our attention starts to return within. A lot can still be achieved when balancing action with nurturing and nesting at home. Grounding snacks can assist greatly. Our Tribal Moon cacao nibs are so yummy to crunch on and go well with organic berries which are rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids. A perfect snack to nourish the body, mind and tastebuds! It may feel like a strange week for energy levels, they may tend to rise and fall unexpectedly, so it can help to be a little more improvisational with your exercise routine during the luteal phase.

Please be mindful this is only an introduction to biohacking your moon cycle with Tribal Moon Cacao. While the self care tips suggested for each phase of the month are simple, they combine synergistically and can truly have a profound effect on your overall womb health and quality of life.
