Peanut Butter & Cacao Protein Balls

Ceremonial Cacao

Who doesn’t love Peanut Butter and Chocolate! Honestly, who would have ever thought that sweet tasty treats like this could be so healthy. (The kids will never know!) 😊😊😊

Ingredients

  • 80 grams of Tribal Moon Cacao
  • 10 Medjool Dates (fresh is best)
  • 2 Heaped Tablespoon Natural Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Roasted Unsalted Peanuts (or any other type of nuts will do)
  • 1/3 Cup Oats
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut
  • 1 Scoop Tribal Moon Cacao Maca Powder or Vanilla Pea Protein Powder
  • Pinch of Himalayan Rock Salt

Instructions

  • Remove pits from dates and add them to a bowl. Pour hot water over them to soften for approximately 5 mins.
  • Once the dates are soft, pour out all the water and place into a food processor or high speed blender along with the peanut butter and salt then blend until smooth.
  • Add in all remaining ingredients and blend together. Don’t over blend as you still want some chunky bits in the mixture. If you are having trouble blending you can always stop and mix it together with a spoon, then blend again.
  • Scoop out into a bowl and roll small amounts in your hands into balls and continue with the remaining mix.
  • Store in an air tight container in fridge and enjoy!

IMPORTANT CACAO PREPARATION NOTES:

Depending on what type of recipe you are creating, we always try and prepare cacao in the easiest possible way with the greatest amount of care. So here are a few helpful hints on how to do that.

  • If you need the cacao in more of a powder-type form for your recipe, just blitz larger chunks of Tribal Moon Cacao in a Nutri-Bullet, Thermomix, or Food Processor for 10 seconds. Then it is all ready to go without needing to chop or grate it. Easy. 😊
  • If you need to turn your cacao into more of a liquid type of consistency, simply pour boiling water into a pot with the cacao and stir over heat until it melts. NEVER LEAVE THE CACAO as it begins to get hot. If it starts to steam, that is as hot as you want to get. Try to NEVER RAISE the temperature of the cacao above 87 Degrees Celsius as it will lose some of its medicinal qualities.
  • Have fun
